New Fabrics!

with one comment

This morning on my way to work I discovered a package at my doorstep!  What a pleasant surprise!  And even better….it was FABRIC!!  I ordered some fabric from the US awhile ago from FreshSqueezedFabrics who I am loving more and more with each order!

This fabric is for one of my friends who had a baby this summer.  I think my point of view on baby quilts (especially living so far away) is as long as I get it done before the first birthday then I am on time!  So this one is for baby Braelyn!  Keisha has been a wonderful friend to me since we met freshman year in college through the bill gates scholarship. She even drove to Atlanta for my going away party (very pregnant).  I am looking forward to this baby quilt and fingers crossed I may even get it done before returning to the States for the holidays!

My second bundle is for someone who has grown into one of my best friends.  Its crazy when you find someone who is so much like you or that you can relate to so easily.  I know I won’t have this one finished in time because the solids have not arrived yet (they are waiting at my mom’s in the states).  But I was THRILLED to see this fabric was even prettier in person than on the website.  She loves purple and now knows the quilt is for her but I’ll wait awhile to divulge the name so as not to stir up jealousy amongst my other friends :-).  I’m complementing  the quilt with berry, salmon and lilac solids.  I am diligently trying to find a pattern that will properly showcase these fabrics.

On another note, I know I have been on a quilting/blogging hiatus but things were hectic while preparing for my boyfriend’s move.  I am back in the sewing room and will have more to report soon!

  1. […] I stacked up on some solids during Canton Village Quilt Works Kona Solids sale.  I also plan to use some of these fabrics when working on the purple quilt mentioned here.  […]
